Ortigueira is only within five kilometers from this house, built in 1750, which has a footprint of 180 m2, rehabilitated with stone of the area and large amount of chestnut and oak woods; some of which recovered from the original house. The exterior doors (4), windows (14) and shutters are made of Canadian cedar with climalit system. It has a bracket-terrace, with wrought iron railings in green carriage on the south facade. In the west facade a balcony of chestnut wood; both the bracket-terrace and the balcony overlook the Ria de Ortigueira. “The Misty Mountains” and the “A Capelada” mountain range could be seen in the distance.The house has a very open ground floor (the different levels define the zones), in which are distributed the kitchen-dining room, the dining-living room of 40 m2, a fresquera (pantrie), a small distributor with exit to the bracket-terrace and a bathroom with a shower; all this plant is lined with manual mud pavement and manual tiling. The kitchen with toelo stone sink and brass faucet (cristina), kitchen equipped with SMEG large fridge, ceramic hob and bilbaína wood stove, also with ceramic hob; this in turn with the function of heating a thermos of 200 l and the radiators of the living room and rooms. In summer, when the kitchen is not turned on, the thermos is electrically heated by night-time fare; also the first floor has electric radiators night rate. Living room with fireplace, restored antique furniture and handicraft bookstore 3.5 m of oak. From this room the stairs lead from the chestnut plank to the first floor and both, this room and the kitchen, have doors to the outside and to the bracket-terrace.The first floor also has two levels. The first consists of a reading area with access to the bracket-terrace and from which a staircase leads to a mezzanine, all bordered with a wooden handrail, two bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom) both with access to the balcony, with wardrobes fitted (of chestnut, glazed and with curtains in all the dormitories of the house). The second level has a distributor with an iron room, a bathroom with bath and shower (all with brass fittings) and a bedroom. This plant has chestnut table of 40 mm floor treated with natural and ecological oils; the interior doors are all chestnut and glazed with curtains. Also say that all the rooms on this floor are also furnished with furniture purchased in antiquary and rehabilitated.The land that surrounds the house, enclosed by stone wall and natural hedges (boxwood, laurel, hydrangeas and photynes), has 2,450 m2, of which half is a field of varied fruit trees, with a centennial walnut, an area with ornamental trees (rhododendrons, magnolias, aromatic and a centenarian camelia tree). The north of the land protects the house with a native forest of chestnut, oak, birch, laurel and acacias… and in this area is the wooden shed treated for garden tools and a 6 m woodshed.The access to the property is paved with cobblestone and finishes in an area in which is located a garage for two cars, constructed of stone and wood; is 8 m wide, with a closed area for laundry and next to it a wooden shed treated.The house is located 5 km from the village of Ortigueira and the wonderful beaches of the area of Ortigueira and Espasante and 12 km from the “most beautiful bank in the world“. The house was chosen as one of the best traditional houses by the magazine “El Mueble – Casas De Campo” and published in a report (magazine no. 63).
